Feature Photographer for Nikon New Zealand, educator, environmentalist and father. Simon Williams (b. Chester, England) has been a specialist photographer in landscape and digital design for the last twenty-five years.
Now based in Queenstown, New Zealand and constantly inspired by the mountains, skies and lakes of the Deep South, Simon uses his educational background in Astro-Physics to command technically precise, yet emotionally resonant photographic works.
Through a journey of daily practice using photography as both a craft and pathway in self-exploration, Simon has created an impressive portfolio of works used to promote nature as a method for mental wellbeing.
His national filmmaking education workshops with New Zealand children through ‘The Outlook for Someday’, also informs his sense of what sustainability looks like through the eyes of our future generations. Simon’s documentary photography on the environment, health and sustainability is exhibited nationally and featured in numerous publications.
